Dancing with the Stars Week 5 – The Switch Up
Wanya switches to Witney and they danced a Tango to Hold Back The River by James Bay and it was very good but they lacked chemistry together. Good posture but he needed to work on keeping his frame up, solid and in one piece. The choreography had great amount of steps but it was hectic. They scored 8,7,7,8 totalling 30.
Kim switches to Keo and they danced a Viennese Waltz to These Arms Of Mine by Otis Redding and it started off with a lot of promise and a whole lot of let down. There was no dancing in frame what so ever and hardly any Viennese Waltz. It was a movement in 6/8 time. They scored 8,6,6,8 totalling 28.
Doug switches to Peta and they danced a Tango to Black Gold by Sam Sparro and it was the best he had ever danced. Way to go!! He needed to stand up taller and keep his bum in. As Max said “they were the complete opposite of Kim and Keo”, they were in frame and had a lot of content. They scored 7,7,7,7 totalling 28.
Ginger switches to Mark and they danced a Salsa to La Malanga by Eddie Palmieri and it was very good. She had a lot of personality in it. It was fast and furious with a whole lot of shimmying going on. Great dancing! They scored 8,8,8,8 totalling 32.
Antonio switches to Karina and they danced a ChaCha to Son Of A Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield and it was very good. Had some content, good hip action and great personality. But he needed to work on foot pressure, turn out of feet and posture. They scored 7,6,6,7 totalling 26.
Paige switches to Sasha and they danced a rumba to Perfect by One Direction and it was very beautiful and it gave me goosebumps. It did lack content but it had good footwork. When it was in frame it was poor but she was vulnerable. It did need more passion and heat. However as s Contemporary number, it was wonderful. They scored 8,8,7,8 totalling 31.
Von switches to Lindsay and they danced a Country Jive to Hips by Beans and Fat Back and it was very good and it was a whole lot of fun. He needed to work on footwork, more quick and sharp to the flicks. He was in character and he kept up with the speed. They scored 8,7,7,7 totalling 29.
Nyle switches to Sharna and they danced a Viennese Waltz to I Get To Love You by Ruelle and it was very beautiful. It had content in frame and out. Good footwork for the most part and he had a great connection with Sharna. He has musicality and portrayed the part amazingly. I loved it! They scored 9,10,9,9 totalling 37.
Jodie switches to Val and they danced a Paso Doble to Under Control by Calvin Harris and Alessio and it was absolutely amazing! I loved it! Great energy, attack and all in with the character. Great skirtography! They scored 9,8,9,9 totalling 35.
