DWTS: Week 11 – The Finals: Judges Pick and Freestyles
Judges pick:
Carlos and Witney for the judges pick danced a Foxtrot to “The Hills” by The Weekend and it was very good. However, the song was more s tango feel, in fact their dance was very staccato and didn’t flow like a natural Foxtrot. It had very little Foxtrot material…a lot of lunges and her dancing around him. He’s so much better than that. The judges obviously like the nouveaux Foxtrot…news flash not a Foxtrot. They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30.
Alek and Lindsay for the judges pick danced a Rumba to “Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore ” by James Morrison and it was very good. However, the song was not a Rumba, it was a Viennese Waltz. I’m sure the viewers can count 123, 456 (V.Waltz) when rumba is 1234, 5678. The hip action was not present….how could it be when it was so fast. He did impress me by dancing more tonight. They scored 9,9,9 totalling 27.
Nick and Sharna for the judges pick danced a jive to “Runaway Baby ” by Bruno Mars and it was absolutely wow!!! I loved it. He danced so much content very well. And he led it. Not like a girl having to be led around. He looked like the professional. They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30.
Bindi and Derek for the judges pick danced a Quickstep to “Dr. Bones” by Cherry Popping Daddies and it was very good. It moved well. Their body contact fell apart a few times. They kept the energy throughout the dance. They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30
Freestyles:
Carlos and Witney danced their freestyle to “WTF…Where They’re From” by Missy Elliot and it was ok . I was lost in the storyline…was there a storyline? It was very hip hop based and moved very well. He shared his limelight with previous contestants. He finally got to dance with his wife. They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30
Alek and Lindsay danced their freestyle to “Marching On” by One Republic and it was an amazing concept. It really touched us as we see what the soldiers go through. Really well done. They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30
Bindi and Derek danced their freestyle to “Footprints In The Sand” by Leona Lewis and it was absolutely beautiful. Great story from beginning to end. Loved it! They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30.
Nick and Sharna danced their freestyle to “Larger Than Life” by Backstreet Boys and it was very good and it brought back many awesome memories! Liked it a lot. Good on him! They scored 10,10,10 totalling 30.
