DWTS Week 5: The Switch Up

Week 5 – The Switch Up

This week on the show we welcome back…Maks Smirchosky!! He is this weeks guest judge!

Tamar is partnered up with Luis and they danced a Samba to “End If Time” by Beyoncé and it was different. She didn’t smile and it didn’t look like she was having fun. The choreography was challenging and she was not keeping up with it but very good effort. They scored 7,7,8,7 totalling 29.

Hayes is partnered with Allison and they danced a Viennese Waltz to “Like I’m Going To Lose You ” by Meghan Trainor and John Legend and it was good however, he had no follow through or brushing. It was quick and he tried his best to keep up. He had good posture and connection. Needs to work on footwork. They scored 8,8,7,7 totalling 31.

Paula is partnered up with Mark and they danced a Jive to “Shake ” by Ottis Redding and it was absolutely funny and wonderful to watch. I had great time watching them! She didn’t even miss a step. I liked the choreography, she needs to work on footwork. They scored 7,7,6,6 totalling 26.

Alek is partnered with Emma and they danced a Rumba to “Let It Go ” by James Bay and it was really pretty and beautiful to watch but I would have liked to see him do more rumba than,  ‘just lunging left and lunging right and hold center’ while she danced around him. He makes really nice lines and he needs to work on footwork. They scored 8,7,7,7 totalling 29.

Bindi is partnered up with Val and they danced a Cha Cha to “Hold My Hand ” by Jess Glynne and very, very good!! I liked a lot!! There was a whole lot of Cha Cha and great leg action. She needs to work on her posture though. They scored 9,9,10,9 totalling 37.

Carlos is partnered up with Lindsay and they danced a Quickstep to “Basa Nova Baby” by Elvis Presley and it was amazing. I absolutely loved it and the choreography as well. Good on both of them, fun, fast and FANTASTIC! They scored 10,10,9,10 totalling 39.

Alexa is partnered with Derek and they danced a Tango to “Pompeii” by Bastille and it was amazing!! I loved it and the choreography! Great connection and great fierceness! She had great growth from last week to this week. They scored 10,10,10,10 totalling 40.

Andy is partnered up with Sharna and they danced an Argentine Tango to “Can’t Feel My Face ” by The Weekend and it was so hot and steamy and awesome! Wow what a connection with his partner!! He needs to work on his footwork. They scored 9,9,9,9 totalling 36.

Nick is partnered up with Whitney and they danced a Paso Doble to “Don’t Look Down ” by Martin Garrix featuring Usher and it was very good but he had trouble with frame connection. Paso Doble needs better upper torso shaping . There was great intention but needed more technique . They scored 9,9,8,9 totalling 35.

This week no one went home.
