Dancing With the Stars: Week 5

This week our new guest judge is Donny Osmand.  Original partners are reunited.

Drew and Cheryl danced a Quickstep to Never Had A Friend Like Me from Aladdin. It was okay. It had awesome energy and it was quite fun. It lacked technique, but had a lot  heart.  Judges scored 7s across the board totalling 28.

Charlie and Sharna danced a Jazz routine to Supercalifragelistic Expealidocious of Mary Poppins. It was full of high energy, great movements and tricks. Good technique. Sad he dropped the cane….but still very good.  Judges scored 9, 10, 9, 9 totalling 37.

Danika and Val danced a Quickstep to Be Our Guest from Beauty and The Beast. It was fantastic. Loved the choreography and it had pretty good technique. Their frame could have been a little more connected in closed position. Still loved it. Judges scored 10, 9, 10, 10 totalling 39.

Amy and Derek danced a Waltz to This Is Love from Cinderella. It was okay. Derek has done better choreography than this. Lifts…really? She may not be able to have done rise and fall, but she could of still moved (walked) through the music. She has the ability! I agree with Len “more in closed position”. Judges scored 9,9,10, 9 totalling 37.

Cody and Whitney danced a Samba to Can’t Wait To Be King from the Lion King. It was not bad. It had good energy but pretty bad technique. No hip action either. No pressure in his balls …. of his feet that is.  😉 Judges scored 9,8,8,9 totalling a 34. Really 9’s what were they watching?!

NeNe and Tony danced a Foxtrot to Cruella  DeVille from the 101 Dalmations . It was absolutely fantastic. Loved the choreography Tony! Awesome spirit and well played character! Judges scored 9, 9, 9, 9 totalling 36.

James and Peta danced a Contemporary number to the song Let It Go from the Frozen. It was confusing. Yes they did great contemporary movements….however it made no sense to the song. But since we are not judging choreography. James did fantastic for what he was given. Judges scored 10’s straight across the board totalling 40.

Meryl and Max danced a Samba to the song I Want To Bd Like You from the movie Jungle Book. It was awesome. Well done. Great technique, great energy, great routine and great movement. Loved it! Judges scored 9 straight across the board totalling 36.

Candice and Mark danced a Samba to Under The Sea from the movie The Little Mermaid. It was the best I’ve ever seen her dance. Totally in character.  Not bad in the technique area, needs to finish the hands and arms. Other than that very very good. Loved the choreography Mark. Judges scored 8,9,9,9 totalling 35.

Tonight’s elimination ended with Cody leaving the show for good!
